Feeling a little guilty about giving out gobs of Halloween candy this year that's likely been made by child laborers? AND that contains high fructose corn syrup as well as artificial colors, flavors and other fun ingredients you can't even pronounce? Well, good news! There's still time to purchase "candy with a conscience" for the cute critters in your home, at your door, or just for yourself. Alter Eco is an organic chocolate company that is dedicated to the fair trade sourcing of ALL its ingredients and, unlike Nestle, Mars and Hershey, there are no children in their supply chain being forced to work the cocoa fields so that you can enjoy a cheap treat.

If chocolate is not your thing, or Alter Eco is outside your budget this year, Black Forest Organic offers an affordable alternative with its cute Sour Heads Halloween packaging and yummy gummies. Black Forest if owned by Ferrara, a company that has also made great strides in its dedication to child labor laws and is committed (unlike Nestle) to being 100% child-labor free by 2020. Both Alter Eco and Black Forest organic candies can be purchased on Amazon for same (or next day) delivery. Alter Eco can also be purchased at WholeFoods and most health food stores and Black Forest products can be found at most local drugstores and supermarkets.Marnihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17729941324135504578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8271173371505143427.post-50556499976959839402019-09-12T16:11:00.000-07:002019-10-30T16:12:33.459-07:00GMOs in Milton's Popular Supermarket Breads

From the "Healthy Section" of the Bread Aisle - Milton's Bread with GMOs and Dave's Killer Bread without

Milton's Healthy Whole Grain and other "Craft Bakers" bread flavors have long been thought of as the "healthier choice" when it came to grocery store breads. Unfortunately, just because Milton's breads do not contain high fructose corn syrup (as most store-bought breads do) this does NOT mean they are all-natural. Notice (in the photo above) they tout their bread as "HEALTHY" but nowhere will you find the words "all natural" nor will you find the NON-GMO or USDA certified ORGANIC label as is found on the packaging of TRUE natural bread, such as the DAVE'S KILLER BREAD brand (also pictured above), which, THANKFULLY, is now also sold in traditional supermarkets.

The fact of the matter is, Milton's uses corn, soy and sugar all of which are genetically modified in every loaf of their bread. This is odd when you consider the fact that the Milton's brand puts the NON-GMO label on literally ALL their crackers, chips and cookies. Maybe if enough of us reach out on their comments page and demand non-genetically modified ingredients Milton's might actually listen.Marnihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17729941324135504578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8271173371505143427.post-9559020273390097442017-03-22T12:39:00.002-07:002017-03-22T12:47:27.680-07:00Why Maple Syrup is Healthiest Sweetener for Tea Drinkers

The Best Sweetener for Hot Tea - Organic Maple Syrup

When I gave up coffee four months ago, I rediscovered my love for loose leaf organic earl grey tea with a splash of milk and a touch of sweetener. The problem is, virtually all ALL-NATURAL sweeteners are highly caloric. Some (quote, unquote) "health experts" will tell you that low calorie Stevia powder is the way to go, but Stevia is a chemically-processed product that I personally do not feel comfortable putting into my body (or my children's). When I drank coffee, I never added sweetener. But with tea, my tastebuds just crave it. So, what to do, what to do? Raw sugar doesn't dissolve well in tea, honey is delish but messy and high in calories (we are talking about EVERY day use here, people), AND chemically-processed, high-fructose agave is NOT the health savior we were told it would be (shock, shock).

So - where does that leaves us? With good old fashion maple syrup, actually! Maple syrup is high in minerals, NEVER chemically processed, considerably lower in calories than honey, and SUPER easy to pour (a huge plus during the morning rush)! And the truth is, a little goes a long way. I add about 1 teaspoon to my cup of earl grey each day and that is just the right amount to cut the slight bitterness of black tea without overpowering the bergamot flavor.

Maple syrup has also become the go-to sweetener at our house for smoothies, oatmeal, and plain yogurt. I usually buy the organic, dark, Grade A variety available at Trader Joe's or Costco - but you can find it at almost any grocery store.

Okay - everyone knows McDonald's is not exactly known for selling the healthiest fast food on the planet. My own deprived children have never even experienced one of their burgers OR Happy Meals. I must confess though, we have been known on occasion (i.e., road trips) to indulge in a McDonald's ice cream cone or two since their soft serve, by itself, contains relatively natural ingredients with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. So, when the infamous Shamrock Shake hit the airwaves (and advertising billboards) this month -- my kids begged me to give it a try. I personally have fond memories from my own childhood drinking many a minty "March Only" McDonald's Shamrock Shake so I really, really wanted to drive up and buy them each one ... until, that is, I looked up the ingredients. Sigh! High Fructose Corn Syrup; Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate and Sulfur Dioxide (As Preservatives); Yellow 5, Blue 1, and Red 40 (As Artificial Colors), PLUS artificial flavor. So I had to say "Sorry kids, no can do." But then we drove to the store to purchase a quart of vanilla ice cream, some milk, and natural mint extract and VOILA! We created our own - minus the artificial ingredients and colors - so, thank you McDonald's for introducing this fun tradition to our family. Now, if you would please consider eliminating the chemicals and artificial ingredients that are so harmful to children's growing bodies, then we could bring this tradition (and our dollars) back to you.Marnihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17729941324135504578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8271173371505143427.post-79113244705728997992017-02-14T18:20:00.002-08:002017-02-14T18:32:11.351-08:00Lead Found in Sippy CupsIn an independent study conducted by blogger Nature Baby Mama, children's sippy cups were reported this week to contain dangerous lead levels - in both the paint used on the cups as well as a small lead solder piece at the bottom of some cups.

Natural bath toys for babies and little ones are hard to find. Most are made from toxic vinyl, plastic or foam - none of which you want floating in your child's bath water or placed in their mouths (where all bath toys tend to end up anyhow). So, when my kids were babies I started buying up washable terrycloth bath toys wherever I could find them. They were hard to come by though until I finally found a company that carries a whole line of them: Plantlife. Plantlife is an all-natural body care company based in California. In addition to the soaps and essential oils and other products they produce, they also make 100% natural cotton, hemp and ramie scrubbies that are hand sewn in the USA, naturally dyed, and contain no removable parts. They come in a colorful array of adorable animals (octopus, frog, turtle, duck, starfish, etc) that are perfect for bath time. I first came across the Plantlife scubbies at Whole Foods, but I have since bought them at other health food stores and online at Amazon and www.plantlife.net. When you purchase a Plantlife scrubbie for your child's bath, you know you are getting a product that is chemical free - with no parabens, phthalates, artificial colors, fragrances, dyes or synthetics.

The next time you get bronchitis -- or a bad cough that just won't go away -- you owe it to yourself to try oregano oil BEFORE giving into antibiotics. It tastes awful, but it does the job. I once went on antibiotics 4 times in one calendar year due to chronic lung issues. That was over 16 years ago - before I discovered oregano oil, and I have NOT taken antibiotics for my lungs ever since. It was my daughter's pediatrician who first recommended it, actually. He said, "If you can get a child to stand the taste -- their lungs will clear within a day or two." Well, he was right. Just two drops of oregano oil (in 2 tablespoons of water) is now the cure all for the whole family during cold and flu season. Herb Pharm is definitely my go-to brand, but Amazon and other local health food stores carry great brands too.
Sniff, sniff ... my two FAVORITE and AFFORDABLE all-natural GLUTEN FREE pumpkin flavored breakfast items are due to leave the shelves this month: Trader Joe's Pumpkin O's ($2.99), a delicious low-sugar cold cereal that somehow tastes just like the Apple Jacks cereal of my childhood (minus the artificial aftertaste) and Trader Joe's Gluten Free Pumpkin Pancake Mix ($4.49). Every year I stock up on several boxes of both to get me through the winter and summer ... until they return again in September. Do yourself a favor and pick some up before they disappear for another year.Marnihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17729941324135504578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8271173371505143427.post-34765139383753639982016-09-13T19:13:00.004-07:002016-09-14T00:59:21.065-07:00Non GMO Pirate's Booty Only for SOME Customers - Others Get GMO

Pirate's Booty: SOME Packages are GMO-Free -- MANY Are NOT.

Arrrrrr ya kidding me? Pirates Brand - the company that makes the wildly popular Pirate's Booty snack line - has FINALLY gone GMO free ... BUT... only for SOME customers and SOME stores. If you shop at Whole Foods, for example, Pirates Brand has decided YOU deserve the more expensive non-GMO corn and canola oil ingredients now found in their "for special retailers only" products. If you shop at Target, Albertson's or another regular retailer though, Pirates Brand has decided your family DOES NOT deserves the same non-GMO ingredients, therefore you get the old genetically altered cheaper stuff they've been hocking for years. Sorry! Don't believe me? Pirates Brand states this very fact right on their own website: "...we recently began offering ... products that are Non-GMO Project Verified. Currently, these products can be found at select retailers...Our [same]... snack products [sold at other stores] contain ingredients that may have been genetically modified."

To make matters worse, the company talks down to those of us who may dare question why they chose to STILL use GMO corn and canola for SOME of us: "Many consumers do not understand that the vast majority of all food crops have been genetically modified" they state on their FAQ page "and that bioengineering technology is only one of a number of technologies used to genetically modify crops. Currently, the majority of food crops grown in the U.S. have some bioengineering. For example, more than 85% of corn (the key ingredient in our products) is bioengineered."

Yes - Pirates Brand - but YOU decided to purchase that non-bioengineered 15% for your more persnickety health conscious customers. Almost nothing infuriates me more than when a food company PRESUMES their customers are idiots and have no clue how the GMO industry works. Many of us BANNED your products from our homes and schools two years ago -- and because of your elitist insistence to NOW provide a healthier, more costly product ONLY to the louder voices that demand it (i.e, the Whole Foods crowd) you shall remain banned. What a shame you chose not to listen to your REGULAR consumers (i.e., the NON Whole Foods crowd) who begged you to replace GMO ingredients for ALL children. So, you've "gone green" and bought yourself some organic sheets (maybe) and forgotten (probably) to "green" the pillow INSIDE the organic pillow case. No one should be resting their head on chemically treated polyester anymore. Ditch that toxic thing and go all natural! What are your choices? Well, there's down, wool and latex -- but many people are allergic to these. Buckwheat is GREAT but it feels a bit like sleeping on magic beans, which just doesn't work for some folk. Cotton FILLED pillows are nearly impossible to find since (a) cotton is highly flammable (on it's own) and (b) as a pillow filling, it clumps.

I had tried ALL of these "green" pillow options myself and not found a single one I loved UNTIL I discovered Kapok. Kapok is a silky, cotton-like fiber that covers the seeds of the tropical Ceiba Tree, (aka the Kapok tree). It makes the PERFECT natural pillow filling because it is soft yet firm, has no scent, and does not need to be chemically treated. Best of all Kapok is sustainable because no chemicals are needed to grow it, it is not genetically modified and no crops are destroyed when it is harvested. Pair the Kapok filling with an organic cotton cover - and you've got the perfect pillow!
I bought my organic Kapok pillow for about $40 from Bean Products via Amazon.com. However, Naturepedic, Brentwood Home and other online retailers also sell organic Kapok pillows at reasonable prices.

NOTE: Whatever you do - DO NOT replace your polyester pillow with a foam, gel or corn stock (aka PLA fiber) pillow. All of these are just as toxic as polyester (if not more so) so don't fall for any green-washing marketing spiel that tries to tell you otherwise!Marnihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17729941324135504578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8271173371505143427.post-45720044337232008292016-07-30T12:37:00.003-07:002016-07-31T17:08:25.514-07:00Health and Weight Loss Benefits of the 5:2 Fast Diet

My Healthy and Delicious "Fasting" Breakfast on the 5:2 Fast Diet

I recently discovered a healthy eating plan I truly believe I can stick with - it's called the 5:2 Fast Diet. Personally, I hate the word "diet" so I prefer to call it an "eating plan." It was created by the English physician Dr. Michael Mosley. Basically, it involves restricting your eating JUST 2 days (ANY two non-consecutive days) per week. The other 5 days - you can eat anything you like. The funny thing is, restricting your diet those two days -- magically leads your body to want healthier foods the other five days. It's like your body begins to understand that it CAN have whatever it wants, it just feels better if it doesn't go overboard. And the cravings really get in check all week when you eliminate sugar and carbs just two days. It's shockingly easy to fast two days when you can tell your brain that TOMORROW you can have those chips or that ice cream. And when tomorrow comes, your brain tends to say "I don't HAVE to have to have the chips AND ice cream today - because tomorrow I can have whatever I don't have today." In other words, you never end up stuffing your face - because you realize you have 4 other days that week to give into those cravings (which have diminished like you will NOT believe!).

Your two restricted days are considered "fasting" days because you are only allowed 500 calories as a woman or 600 as a man. I have found that a big brunch (organic eggs, all-natural turkey sausage and organic salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar) and a light dinner (chicken and vegetables) fit these criteria and gets me though the day just fine. Personally, I chose to eschew carbs, dairy, soy, and sugar on my two fasting days. Just makes life easier - and means I am eating at my utmost healthiest for almost 1/3rd of the week with little effort.

There is a ton of science behind fasting, which indicates that intermittent fasting makes us healthier and actually adds to our longevity. As Dr. Mosley himself reported in a Huffington post interview: “I went into (fasting) quite skeptical because I’ve looked at diets over the years and I’ve always assumed they’re rubbish. Really seriously rubbish. But the people who study in this area (of fasting) are really top scientists — world-class scientists who are hugely reputable in their areas. And they were all coming at it from their areas of expertise: cancer, dementia, diabetes — they were approaching it from different angles, but coming to the same conclusion.”

I've been doing the 5:2 Fast Diet for three weeks now myself, and I can tell you I sleep much better, my clothes are loser, I feel much more energetic, and I don't crave sugar at all anymore (although I do allow myself dessert when I feel like having it on my five non-fasting days). Reaping such benefits with so little effort means this is a plan I can DEFINITELY stick with ... hopefully for life.

ADDED BONUS: I save money and don't have to think about shopping or meal prep two days a week! That's a VERY welcome break to my busy week!

My kids LOVE our simple homemade cinnamon toast: toasted organic bread (gluten free for the one with Celiac) spread with softened organic butter and sprinkled with organic cinnamon powder. Well, while making toast this morning - woops! - we realized the cinnamon container was empty! What to do? What to do? Thanks to a cooking class I attended over the weekend with the Farmer's Market Groupie, an idea popped into my head. Why not grind our own cinnamon? Elisha Reverby (our cooking class instructor and owner of Farmer's Market Groupie) informed us that ALL spices, seasonings and seeds are best when FRESHLY ground. Those we buy in jars have been sitting on a shelf losing their flavor, scent and overall health benefits for months (maybe even years). Elisha used a mortar and pestle to mash the herbs and seeds we were using in our recipe -- and one of those ingredients (LIGHT BULB MOMENT) was a cinnamon stick. Then, this morning (2ND LIGHT BULB MOMENT) I recalled that some people use coffee grinders for such purposes - and that this might be a faster method for grinding up a whole cinnamon stick. So, we got out our 25 year old Krups Fast Touch coffee grinder (which still works as well as it did the day we bought it), popped in a stick of cinnamon, and PRESTO! We had fresh, aromatic cinnamon powder in seconds. My kids were totally very impressed! And, they found the flavor to be much yummier than the the old powder we were using. Looks like we've discovered a new way to make spices at our house!Marnihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17729941324135504578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8271173371505143427.post-66008115124361339962016-07-26T14:09:00.000-07:002016-07-31T17:13:41.783-07:00Best Organic Face Cream

Let me tell you, I've tried dozens of all-natural moisturizers and face creams - and nothing compares to Honey Girl Organics Face and Eye Creme Extra Sensitive. Mind you - I do NOT have sensitive skin. I was simply looking for a good cream that would make my skin feel soft and hydrated and this particular product did the trick. I was willing to pay a high price if I could just find a natural moisturizer that:

a) Didn't make me break out or clog pores
b) Didn't have an odd smell or too much of ANY smell
c) Contained NO artificial ingredients, chemicals or fragrance
c) Contained organic ingredients
d) Didn't feel like it was sitting on top of my skin
e) Would not feel too light

Well, I didn't have to. Honey Girl Organics definitely doesn't break the bank. One 1.75 fluid oz glass jar of Honey Girl Organics Face and Eye Cream Extra Sensitive lasts for 30-60 days and retails for about $32 at Whole Foods, local health food stores, the Honey Girl Organics website, and Amazon. That price is a steal when you consider the fact that this product contains the USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC label, a rare distinction in the cosmetics industry, and that it received the HIGHEST SAFETY SCORE POSSIBLE in the EWG Skin Deep Cosmetics Database.

Honey Girl Organics makes lighter moisturizers (and many other amazing organic skin products) but for me, the Face and Eye Cream Extra Sensitive is the ticket. So many skin "creams" these days feel too heavy for true absorption. Not this one. When I apply it (in the morning and before bed) I can literally feel the honey, royal jelly and olive oil ingredients penetrating deep into my epidermis.

I've purchased several jars just to make sure I never run out.Marnihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17729941324135504578noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8271173371505143427.post-34497190128131631602016-07-25T12:48:00.000-07:002016-07-26T15:27:14.762-07:00Delicious Affordable All-Natural Ice Cream

I just discovered affordable heaven in the freezer section of my local (aka REGULAR) grocery store: Old-Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream by Tillamook! I have not tasted ice cream this creamy and pure in decades. You will be shocked at the fat content - which is lower than far less tasty and less natural brands. To make matters even better - Tillamook's Old-Fashioned Vanilla uses 100% natural ingredients, NO corn syrup, and - like all Tillamook dairy products - it comes from cows NEVER treated with artificial growth hormones. Many of us don't have access to organic ice cream every day (or at all), which makes Tillamook Ice Cream the next healthiest choice. It's available at most major grocery stores, is priced right (at about $5 for 1.75 Qts) and - to be frank - tastes better than many pricey organic ice cream brands anyhow.

INGREDIENTS: Cream, Sugar, Condensed Skim Milk, Whole Milk, Egg Yolks, Vanilla Extract, Tara Gum, Guar Gum.

NOTE: Some question the use of tara gum and guar gum. Tillamook - and other dairy companies - use these natural plant-derived thickener to give their ice cream an extra creamy texture. It doesn't add or subtract from the flavor though, so personally, I'd love to see how it tastes without.

Hurray! In-N-Out Burger -- the ONLY fast food burger chain I ever take my kids to -- just announced last week that it plans to stop using meat from animals treated with antibiotics. "Our company is committed to beef that is not raised with antibiotics important to human medicine. We've asked our suppliers to accelerate their progress toward establishing antibiotic alternatives,” said VP of Quality for In-N-Out Keith Brazeau in a statement to Reuters.

This popular west coast chain has always been known for its exclusive use of fresh ingredients: fresh (never frozen) meat, hand cut french fries, and shakes made from real ice cream. So it's somewhat surprising that it took a public letter from the CALPIRG Education Fund to get In-N-Out to make the change. Because of the serious issues now related to antibiotic resistant in human beings though, several activist groups have been pressuring restaurants and food suppliers to stop purchasing meat treated with antibiotics.

According to the Center for Disease Control, "there is strong evidence that some antibiotic resistance in bacteria is caused by antibiotic use in food animals." And as reported by the FDA in The Daily Meal, approximately 70 percent of antibiotics sold in the United States end up in animal feed. In United States alone, over 23,000 people die every year from antibiotic resistant infections, so this is not something to be taken lightly.

We need to be able to rely on antibiotics for medicine when true bacterial infections set in, but our over reliance on them (in hand sanitizers, cleaning products, meat, even shoes) is actually making us immune to their benefits.

Thank you In-N-Out for addressing the antibiotic resistance problem (and for making killer french fries and milk shakes). Now, if we can just get you to commit to using non-gmo oils in your fryer and hormone-free milk in your milkshakes, we could ACTUALLY start labeling you a health food chain!

Make Your Baby's First Birthday Cake Out of Fresh Fruit!

If you're looking for the healthiest cake for baby's first birthday then look no further than the fruit aisle! That's right, a baby's first cake can be made of delicious fresh fruit! My daughter's piano teacher made the one pictured about out of watermelon (the base tiers), mango (the flowers), honeydew (the hearts), pineapple (the #1 cake topper) and embellished the whole thing with grapes, strawberries and kiwi. The whole thing was assembled with toothpicks, took little time to make, and was very affordable.

Personally, I can't stand the tradition of allowing a one-year old baby to gorge him or herself on a piece of overly sweet, overly processed flour cake for their first birthday. Starting children on processed sugar before the age of two spoils the palate and introduces non-healthy food cravings that make it difficult to develop an appetite for whole, natural foods. If you have to have a real cake at your baby's first birthday, serve it to the older kids and adults but let the babies delight in the beautiful new tradition of a Fresh Fruit First Birthday Cake. As a bonus, your healthy child will thank you for not corrupting her taste buds corrupt by 12 months.

Not Just for Baking - Baking Soda Exfoliation for the Scalp Soothes Itching and Kills Bacteria

If you suffer from dandruff, allergies that affect the scalp, or hair product overload then it's time to exfoliate with good old fashion baking soda. Scalp exfoliation with baking soda will not only kill any yeast buildup, it will also make you feel as if you've been to the spa (for just a handful of pennies, no less). Follow up with an apple cider vinegar rinse to complete the treatment, and your scalp will be thanking you for weeks. Or until you eat too much sugar again (which can cause dandruff when the sugar turns to yeast in your system and clogs the pores in your scalp as it's trying to exit your system).

How to Exfoliate Scalp with Baking Soda:

Wet hair thoroughly (best to do in the shower or tub).

Pour about two tablespoons of fresh baking soda into your palm.

Add drops of water to the baking soda until it forms a paste.

Start at the temples and begin massaging the baking soda paste into your scalp in a circular motion.

Avoid the strands and ends of hair - and focus only on the scalp. Use more baking soda to create enough paste to massage your entire scalp.

IMPORTANT: Rinse with COLD water (not warm). Cold water helps close the pores of the scalp.

If you have longer hair, it's important to follow the scalp exfoliation with an apple cider rinse, otherwise your hair will feel dry and tangly. Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar to 5 parts water.

Lean your head back when pouring the vinegar mixture onto your scalp. Start with the scalp, but work the mixtures into your ends.

AGAIN - VERY IMPORTANT: Rinse with cold water (not warm).

If the smell of the vinegar is lingering or bothering you, follow up with some cream rinse on the ENDS ONLY. Do not put ANY products (or cream rinse) on your scalp.

You'll find that the baking soda treatment doesn't just treat the itching, it actually cleans the scalp so you won't have to shampoo for days (or ever again … really ...if you become a no-poo believer).

Zero Plastic School Lunch

Believe it or not, it's easy and COST EFFECTIVE to pack plastic-free lunches. This is all you would need to pack the non plastic school lunch you see pictured above:

* (2) Stainless steel sectioned sandwich containers (like the lunchbots brand above).
* (1 or 2) Snack size containers (like the Kids Conserve container above with pineapple)
* (1) Stainless steel water bottle (with silicone sipping parts that can be rinsed with vinegar and scrubbed with a small bottle nipple brush).
* (1) 100% COTTON bag to function as a lunch box (no lead linings)
* (1) Store bought snacked wrapped in paper - NEVER plastic.

Remember - once you invest in a set of stainless containers, you'll have them for decades. Now, how is that for waste management!
Who amongst us has not fed their toddler or elementary-age children gallons of Veggie Booty? Sure, we knew we weren't giving them REAL vegetables, but never in our wildest organic dreams did we imaging we were feeding our kids GMOs. Well, we were. For years. In my case, a whole decade. I knew most field corn crops were genetically modified, not to mention virtually all non-organic soy and canola oils. So I avoided those ingredients in breads and baked goods and thought we were safe. Somehow, it never dawned on me to think about the cornmeal and oils in my kids' beloved booty. Then one day I did. And then I "googled". And then, there it was, right there on the company's website (and still is) "The Pirate's Brand company admitted over two years ago to using genetically modified ingredients in their products. And have they taken any steps to change their ingredients since people started complaining? No. So guess what happened? Someone else beat them to the punch. Bearitos, an organic chip company that's been around for decades, swooped in and created their own line of organic, GMO-free Veggie Puffs and Cheddar Puffs. And guess what? Kids love them! If your local natural foods market isn't carrying them yet, tell them to. Remind them about the GMOs in the Pirates Brand and tell them you won't be buying that brand ever again. Only if companies lose money will they ever learn.
